Ok, here goes my attempt at putting my thoughts on this into words...

For once I'm going to concentrate this review on my view of this, instead of the flash itself.
Now I don't know much about this, I hadn't even heard about this shooting till i read the Staff Comment. The way I see it, this flash, the shooting, was this kids cry for help (god I'm beginning to sound like a psychiatrist, I fucking hate psychiatrists ._.). In my opinion, he submitted this flash as a cry for help, which, as far as I know, went unanswered. Then he did the shooting... it's funny how no one pays attention to a situation until it's too late, if this kid had just blown his own brains out, would there be so much attention on this? He felt trapped, alone, and no one cared to try helping him. Well now, through a horrible act, he got the attention he wanted. He vented the hate he felt for the people who made him like this, by killing innocent people. I don't know what was going through this guys mind, I will never know, maybe he did this because he wanted people to hate him, to hate him like he hated the people who ignored him. Maybe he was just crazy, driven to insanity by God knows what went on in his head and in his life. Or maybe he just wanted to go out the good-old american way (a certain war president who doesn't seem too bothered about killing innocent people comes to mind). Now I know full well that you cannot justify the killing of innocent people, the crime that this kid commited was a terrible act, but he didn't just wake up one day and think "oh I'll go kill some people and then kill myself". He was driven to this because his cries for help went ignored, and yes, maybe he should've tried venting his anger in more positive ways, instead of taking the lives of innocent people. But then we have to remember that we are only human...none of us are perfect...

...and that hindsight is a bastard...

w00t, another resident evil flash =)

I'm a huge fan of the Resident Evil series, and love watching flash animation based on it. I'm sure all of us have brought these points up while playing with friends, and you had a good idea putting them into flash, which wasn't badly done either. =)

The door one was always one of my favourite things to rant about, and another was the variety of zombies and such (although this is down to limitations in the game engine). I remember giving a 10 minute speech to my friends about how, although only having one type of dog in the orginal game was fine, because they were guard dogs, the idea that throughout an entire city the only species of dog there are dobermans was pretty hard to believe. :P

Keep up the good work, hope to see more from you soon. =)

Look, this flash isn't about what happened on September 11th, it's about a young girl who has lost her father, and how she misses him. This could happen to anyone, if someone made a flash about someone losing a loved one in a car accident, no one would pay much attention, except to the flash itself, but because the girl in this submission lost her father in 9/11 everyone is up in arms about it. Instead of basing your reviews on your opinion of 9/11, base them on your opinion of this what this flash is. Yes, 9/11 was a great tragedy, but thousands of people lose their loved ones everyday, this flash is just the story of one of those people.

As for what I thought of the flash, the art and animation was excellent, the song fitted it perfectly, an incredably beautiful and touching animation. Keep up the good work. :)

Beautiful...

You know, there's one thing I really hate seeing on newgrounds, and that's people putting pointless reviews saying "this is crap" or "omg that was so gay, there was no violence or anything" (although I'm glad to see there isn't much of that on this particular piece). You people really need to realise that flash isn't just about violence, death and comedy. Flash is a form of art, and it's not very often that someone creates a piece that really affects you in the way art should. I do enjoy the more bloody, violent side to flash, of course. But this is the type of flash that truly blows me away, it's so uplifting to be going through the new submissions and find something that touches you so deeply.

As for the flash itself, the music fitted perfectly, the drawings themselves were amazing, the animation wasn't perfect, but it gave the desired effect. Overall an incredable submission that I won't forget, touched me in a way not many submissions have. Keep up the great work, I hope to see more from you. :)
